Vanilla Sponge Cake
Hello All,
I learnt baking last year and it was very helpful for me as I can make any cake today with proper frosting and decoration. There were times when I did not know how to make even a basic sponge cake. The first thing when you want to learn making a cake, is to know how to make a basic vanilla flavored sponge cake. So,today I am sharing the most basic cake which is too easy to make and it does not require expert baking skills. Its the base of every fruit flavoured cake you have in best of shops or restaurants. But you have to make sure to use ingredients in the quantity mentioned in the recipe or else the cake can be a mess😃.
Ingredients:-
4-Eggs
100 gm-All purpose flour(Maida)
100 gm-Powdered sugar
1 cup-Milk
100 gm-Amul Butter(salted)
1 tspn-Baking powder
1 tspn-Vanilla Essence
Method:-
- Beat the 4 eggs using a electric beater for 5 minutes continuously.
- Add vanilla essence and powdered sugar to the beaten eggs and beat again for 10 minutes.
- Now, in a separate bowl, add the maida(make sure there are no lumps in it or remove the lumps),milk and butter to egg mixture.
- Now beat the mixture for 10 minutes until the consistency becomes as shown in below photo.
- Preheat the OTG(or Oven on convection mode) for 15 to 20 minutes on 180 degrees.
- By the time OTG is heated, dust the cake mould.Dusting means first applying 1/2 tspn of oil in the entire mould using brush or your fingers and then sprinkling the all purpose flour on all sides of mould. This will help the cake to come out easliy after its baked. The dusted mould should look as shown below:
- Now add the mixture to the mould and let it spread evenly in the mould.Tap the mould slowly so there are no air bubbles left in the mixture.
- Place the mould in OTG and bake the mixture for 30 minutes on 180 degree Celsius.
- Check after 30 minutes inserting a toothpick in the cake if its cooked or not.The stick should come out dry from the baked cake.
- Your delicious sponge cake is ready to be served at team time or as a dessert with some sugar frosting!!
Keep following, I will soon come up with more interesting recipes😊.
