Chicken Shaslik

Hello All,

I love to cook special food on weekends and I tried another recipe this weekend too.It turned out to be really delicious and was too easy and quick to make. We have it in Indian weddings mostly and its none other than Chicken Shaslik(also called as chicken sticks).Its one of my favourite starters as it is easy on palette and super tasty.Children love this dish as it looks very attractive and is hard to resist.
So do try this recipe at home as all the ingredients are easily available in your market!!




Ingredients:

1/2 kg-Boneless chicken
2 cups-Curd
2 tspn-Ginger Garlic paste
2 tspn-Mustard sauce
1 tspn-Red chilli powder
2 tspn-Chilli flakes
1 tspn-Soya sauce
1 tspn-Black pepper powder
Salt as per taste
2-Capsicum
2-Onion
2-Eggs
6 to 7 cups-Bread crumps.
Shaslik(Sticks to put chicken and veggies)
Oil to fry.


Method:

  • Cut the chicken into small square pieces.Clean,wash and strain the chicken.
  • For marination, add curd,Ginger garlic paste,mustard sauce,red chilli powder,red chilli flakes,soya sauce,black pepper powderand salt as shown below:





  • Now mix the ingredients and it will look as shown below:




  • Refrigerate the marination for 1 hour(you can keep it for 30 minutes as well).
  • In the mean time cut the capsicum and onions in square shape as shown below:




  • Prepare the bread crumps just by grinding bread in mixer as show below:





  • Now take the sticks and add vegetable and chicken one by one as shown below:



  • Heat the oil and make sure the flame is low or else the chicken will not be cooked.
  • For coating we dip the chicken sticks first in egg and then in bread crumps.
  • Fry the coated chicken stick on low flame until it turns golden brown.Make sure it isnt burnt.


Your chicken shaslik is ready to be served with tomato ketchup!!
